Through seven generations of magazine headlines proclaiming, “Best ‘Vette Yet,” America’s sports car has reigned supreme on the back roads and at the stoplights of the U-S-A. From the rounded shapes of the 1953 that Briggs Cunningham so famously campaigned at Le Mans, to the sharp, creased lines of the current-gen, the Corvette has been the most powerful sports car to come out of Detroit — and one of the most prolific.

As the world waits in joyful hope for the midengined C8, the show floors of SEMA featured a number of Cs 1 through 7. Here are our favorites.
