Celebrating 15 years of its potent V-Series, Cadillac is releasing 300 special editions of its ATS-V coupes and CTS-V sedans. Dubbed the Pedestal Edition, these special Cadillacs are GM’s way of bidding farewell to the current generation of the CTS-V and ATS-V sports cars, as well as their base platforms.
There’s no doubt that both of these Cadillacs will be monsters on the road and quick around the track — still, the folks at Cadillac maybe wanted to downplay that by painting both cars brown. Well, Cadillac calls it bronze sand metallic, but it’s not exactly the most striking shade with which to send Caddy’s final ATS-V and CTS-V cars away.
Aside from the special paint, both Cadillacs will come loaded to the top with options. The CTS-V comes with a carbon-fiber front splitter, carbon-fiber hood vent, carbon-fiber rear spoiler and carbon-fiber rear diffuser. The CTS-V Pedestal Edition will also feature a luxury package, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes and a performance data and video recorder. Oh yeah, and a 640-hp 6.2-liter V8.
The ATS-V also sports all the same carbon-fiber goodies as its larger sedan sibling. The ATS-V gets Brembo brakes and Recaro seats, as well, but won’t get extra features like a rear camera mirror, manual rear side-window shades or tri-zone climate control. The 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 doesn’t make as much power as the CTS-V’s V8, but its 464 hp should still get you around OK.
With only 300 total of these available, you can imagine they’ll be all sold out before long. Cadillac didn’t break down how that number will be split, but it could all boil down to how many of each are ordered.
